Multiple Regression

Multiple, or also known as multivariable, analysis is a regression analysis with two or more independent variables.

Example 1

Obesity is a common health problem. One of the several measures of obesity is waist circumference. For the purpose of formulating prevention strategy, one may be interested in exploring factors associated with obesity. In that case, waist circumference should be taken as the dependent variable in a regression analysis on some potential risk factors such as dyslipidemia and diabetes. The risk factors are called independent variables. Note there are more than one independent variable and the regression analysis is multiple or multivariable.
