Statistical Distribution

It is a description of the distribution of data from a population of interest. Roughly speaking, it is a plot of the chance of the occurrence of a plausible value against the plausible value. The knowledge of it is important as many statistical procedures, e.g., the t-test, have specific assumption on the statistical distribution.

Examples

Binomial distribution, Chi-square distribution and Normal distribution are all statistical distributions.
